Rugby For Heroes Hosts Six Nations Lunch with Mike Tindall and Christophe Ridley

We proudly hosted a successful Six Nations Lunch, featuring our patron and former England captain Mike Tindall, alongside one of our new ambassadors, international rugby referee Christophe Ridley. Held at the Sepoy Club and Restaurant in Bath, the event brought together rugby enthusiasts and supporters dedicated to aiding military service men and women.

The exclusive event offered attendees expert insights from Tindall and Ridley ahead of the Six Nations tournament. Guests were also joined by a distinguished ambassador table, including Olympic gold medalist Amy Williams MBE and Welsh actor Julian Lewis Jones, who contributed to the fundraising efforts while celebrating all things rugby.

The afternoon commenced with a social meet-and-greet, where supporters, trustees, and ambassadors connected over a complimentary glass of fizz, followed by a two-course Asian-inspired meal. As part of BathBID’s Rebalance Festival in Bath, the event also welcomed local business representatives and community supporters, with Radio Bath acting as a key sponsor.

A standout moment of the event was the charity auction, led by Trustee Simon Bailey. Items auctioned included signed rugby jerseys from Mike Tindall and exclusive experiences generously donated by HM Tower of London. The auction showcased the generosity and commitment of attendees in supporting Rugby For Heroes’ mission.

Simon Bailey, Trustee of Rugby For Heroes, commented:
“It was fantastic to see so many supporters come together to raise funds for such an important cause. The generosity shown in the auction reflects the strong sense of community and commitment to helping our military personnel transition successfully.”

The event was also supported by the Rebalance Festival in Bath, which aims to promote well-being and community engagement. A representative from Bath BID, organisers of the festival, stated: “The Bath BID runs a yearly festival called the ReBalance Bath Festival of Wellbeing which highlights all of the wonderful things that people can do in Bath that support health and well-being which sounded like it fit quite well with your mission as a charity. As an organisation one of our key objectives is bringing businesses together, so we saw this as a great opportunity not only to highlight the city but also the businesses within it.

The event successfully raised vital funds and awareness for military servicemen and women, aligning with the upcoming 2025 cohort of the Transition Through Rugby course, which supports veterans in their transition to civilian life being held this week in Gloucester.

We extend our gratitude to all attendees, sponsors, and supporters who made this event a resounding success.
