The rugby community offers a home and a purpose to our returning heroes. Through rugby teams, coaching and the wider rugby community, Rugby For Heroes is a dependable crutch in a time of transition and a helping hand back into daily life. The Hand Of Friendship 2014 calendar is ON SALE NOW priced at £9.99 including P&P and available through the Rugby For Heroes website at www.rugbyforheroes.org.uk. All proceeds from the sale of the calendar will go to help military servicemen and women make the transition from military to civilian life.
Commenting on the launch of the new calendar, Rugby For Heroes Head Of Fundraising Alan Lamb, said; “This year we wanted the calendar to focus and reflect more about the grassroots and the spirit of rugby. The hand of friendship is a simple yet powerful and effective image, a universal gesture the world over. The handshake of a rugby player and a military person represents friendship, sportsmanship, help and support for each other.”
He added; “Through the sport of rugby and the local rugby communities, we are helping to support our military service men and women who make the sometimes difficult transition to civilian life after serving in the military. The money raised from each calendar sale will help make a real difference.”
